Lesson 5 – 3M Scotchbond Universal Plus Quiz

3M™ Scotchbond™ Universal Plus Adhesive now contains a novel radiopaque resin which has heavy atoms as part of the molecular structure – similar to an X-ray contrast agent.  This makes it the first radiopaque universal adhesive.

Studies show that 3M™ Scotchbond™ Universal Plus Adhesive achieves similar   shear bond strength to caries- affected dentin and sound dentin.  This helps preserve tooth structure.

3M™ Scotchbond™ Universal Plus Adhesive has shown equivalent or higher shear bond strength to dentin and enamel than competitive universal adhesives.

When testing bond strengths by technique, we found there is no statistical difference in shear bond strength when using cured vs. cured + uncured layer of adhesive in the universal composite injection molding technique.
